Reamker is a Cambodian epic which adapted from India’s Ramayana and was original written by the poet Valmiki. So far, this epic was every effective Cambodia social in art, literature, and tradition. Reakmer will unleash the love, trust, war, loyalty, and the revenge among the prince and queen Sita, princes and giants, prince and monkey, money and mermaid, and and a forlorn princess.
The scene of Reamker, Battle of Lanka, was carved on Angkor Wat temple. Other part of Reamker was frescoes at Wat Bo, Siem Reap and at Wat Preah Keo Morokot, Phnom Penh.
Because of Cambodia’s war and the weather condition, the Reamker at Wat Preah Keo Morokot, Phnom Penh was lost its color and timeline. It is not easy to find the material to match the lost part.
Now Cambodian and Polish Experts is working together in Wat Preah Keo Morokot Royal Palace to restore the Reamker’s frescoes.
