Filmed in Battambang, Cambodia, the movie First They Killed My Father was directed by Angelina Jolie. Maddox, Jolie’s Cambodian adopted son, also involved in this production in his homeland. The movie is about the Khmer rough in 1975 in Cambodia. The vehicle in 1970s model was delivered to Battambang in February 2016. Some home and business house was transformed into an old style town in 1970s architect. Hundreds of people was hired to be in the movie in 25$ per day.
In fact, Khmer rough in Cambodia is such a miserable history for Cambodian and should not be review. However, so far, there is no production, studio, nor editor in Cambodia who could make such a standard movie for this. Haing S. Ngor won Oscar award in 1985 in his film The killing field. That movie also describe people during Khmer rough in Cambodia.
